With over forty years of experience, Clay has worked with legendary artists such as Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Bette Midler, Lenny Williams, and many more. He is widely recognized for his expertise in teaching the Motown Secrets to songwriting.

As the president of his own music publishing companies, Claytam and Troytiaco, Clay has made significant contributions to the music world. He is a respected member of ASCAP, the National Association of Recording Industry Professionals (NARIP), and a voting member of the Grammy Association. Clay's passion for music extends beyond his successful career, as he currently teaches a Professional Songwriting class at The Songwriting School of Los Angeles and conducts professional songwriting seminars nationwide.

During his time at Motown Records/Jobete Publishing, Clay played a pivotal role in creating hit songs for some of the biggest names in music.
